Patrick joined Ethos as Vice Chairman in October 2019. He is a senior investment banker with a wealth of M&A experience, particularly in advising on private equity acquisitions and disposals.
On graduating from Cambridge with a degree in Economics, Patrick started his City career as an investment analyst at stockbrokers Grieveson Grant. He first became involved in advising companies when he moved to broking firm Capel-Cure Myers. He then joined County Bank, which became NatWest Markets, where he was responsible for running the Emerging Companies Team, which was one of the leading smaller company advisory businesses. In 1998 he was one of the founders and a Managing Director of Hawkpoint Partners and in 2013 he jointly established Stephens Europe where he was Chief Executive until 2019.
Patrick’s investment banking experience is across a wide range of sectors, geographies and deal sizes although throughout his career has always had an interest in smaller growing companies. Patrick’s first investment into a private company was in 1998 and he has continued investing since then.
In addition to spending as much time as he can with his young family, Patrick enjoys skiing, dinghy sailing, cycling and generally trying to keep fit so that he can continue to enjoy the occasional indulgence in wine and good food.
